Hazardous Materials Abatement Monitoring
Island EHS is prepared to carry out all types of sampling required by WorkSafeBC.
Air sampling is carried out during the removal of asbestos containing materials. WorkSafeBC regulations stipulate the types and frequency of air sampling that is required during abatement activities. Regulations also specify that air sampling be carried out at the beginning of a lead abatement project and as necessary during the project. Air sampling is carried out to determine if the work procedures in use are adequate and that workers and surrounding areas are not being contaminated with asbestos or lead. Sometimes air sampling is required during the removal of other hazardous materials such as crystalline silica. Island EHS is prepared to carry out all of these types of sampling. We analyze asbestos air samples in our own laboratory and arrange for laboratory analysis of lead and silica samples.
